The United Kingdom is scheduled to leave the European Union (EU) on Friday, the 29th of March 2019. Meanwhile the EU and UK representatives are negotiating on the different agreements each month to determine what happens to rights of UK and EU citizens after Brexit,e.g., will EU citizens be able to enter the UK without a Visa and what happens to the payable debt the UK owns the EU.
The word Brexit is derived from the words Britain and Exit, which literally means the UK leaving from its previous position in the European Union and achieving independence. A referendum was held on Thursday 23 June 2016 upon summoning Article 50. Nearly every adult citizen attended and gave their decisions in the form of votes. Leaving the EU won by 51.9% and this took place with more than 30 million people voting.

The main cause of this can be divided into several factors which includes many Brexit supporters not being in favour of the large number of immigrates coming to the UK. The British wanted full control of their borders and started cutting down on the number of people coming in, which is entirely contrary to one of the main principals of the EU membership: “free movement for all EU residents”.

According to Theresa May, the separation is scheduled to be at 11 PM on Friday, the 29th of March 2019. There has been no reservation on the date and most political bodies seem to agree with this hasty decision. UK and EU citizens should have a better idea about decisions revolving around Brexit, which will be taken on Friday the 24th of November 2017, when Theresa May holds her scheduled meet with Donald Tusk. Meanwhile there is a large petition in place by EU citizens for the renewal of the British passport as it is, so that borders can be crossed freely. Similarly, many EU businessmen are demanding a “renewable passport which will last up to 10 years”. There is a great chance in the fall of UK finances after Brexit. There will be decrease in business dealings as half of the economy came from the EU firms. Moving to the United Kingdom will not be as major an issue for foreign residents as it will be for the European Union citizens. Theresa May stated that although the number of immigrates will be shortlisted and put under surveillance, an estimated number of 100,000 immigrates will be allowed to live in the UK. Irish citizens will still be able to immigrate to the UK without a passport after Brexit. The separation may also create more vacancies in various firms and institutions for foreign residents once Brexit takes place.
